Medecision’s Campus Partnership Program identifies top talent at colleges across the nation—and it’s proven to be beneficial.

At Medecision, we’re passionate about building a talented, diverse and inclusive workforce. One of the ways we do that is through our Medecision Campus Partnership Program. By partnering with colleges in our home base of Texas and across the nation, we are able to identify top talent early and often.
Although the COVID-19 pandemic has understandably put most college recruitment programs on hold, we look forward to forging many new relationships once it’s safe for college events to be back in full swing. In the meantime, I wanted to share why we’ve implemented this program and give a well-deserved nod to its early success.
The Value of Campus Partnership Programs
I’m proud to say our leadership team believes strongly in college recruitment. While it’s a practice that’s very familiar, not everyone realizes just how beneficial it can be for both students and employers. Here are just some of the benefits:
- Students are exposed to new and varied employers. According to the Recruiting Benchmarks Survey Report 2019 from the National Association of Colleges and Employers (NACE), employers attended an average of 48 career fairs in 2019, giving students an opportunity to learn about different companies, positions and disciplines.
- Students get the chance to interview with a company they might not get the chance to visit in person. For many employers, conducting formal on-campus interviews is the norm, which is the equivalent of bringing the job opportunity to the student. According to NACE, this approach resulted in 3% of full-time college hires in 2019.
- Employers create brand awareness with the next generation of employees and consumers. Participation can also help employers build a strong reputation with the college and the community.
- Employers can find the best and the brightest. Recruitment efforts help employers discover talent early, bring greater diversity to their teams and identify individuals who can bring fresh perspectives to their company and culture. Who wouldn’t want to find the next great strategist, salesperson, engineer, programmer, accountant, marketer, etc. before their competitors do? What company wouldn’t welcome the new ideas and new ways of thinking that could lead to innovation or a far more resilient business culture?
Early Success in the Midst of a Pandemic
That last benefit was evident in full force during an early success with our Campus Partnership program.
In April 2020, we were honored to collaborate with and sponsor the University of Michigan’s Ross Multidisciplinary Action Project (MAP). As part of this project, we tasked a diverse team of top MBA students, guided by their senior faculty, with a business challenge.
Recognizing how COVID-19 could dramatically impact vulnerable, underserved and diverse populations, we asked our university team to help us think about how best to engage and support these populations, both during and beyond the COVID-19 crisis. We were delighted with their unbiased perspectives and data-driven recommendations. They provided us with valuable and actionable insight we’ve been able to use as we help our clients and their patients and members navigate these challenging times.
